Dr Katie Fitton Davies is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores. Her research focuses on the motivational processes of young children alongside movement development. Her passion is to help bridge the gap between research and applied practice in physical education.
Since graduating from Cambridge in 1997 with a Masters in Economics and Mathematics, I've been involved in sport winning the European Cup as a player with Bath, competing and coaching in the Commonwealth Games, the 7's World Cp and the 7's World Series. I worked in the England Rugby Pathway (England U18's and U20's) as part of an inter-disciplinary team developing world-class English rugby players, many of whom played in the 2019 WC Final following a sabbatical to teach Economics for 2 years. I now work cross-sport (with organisations including NZ7’s, England Rugby, GB Hockey, British Swimming, the FA, numerous football teams, The ECB) and in business (Google, Abbott and the NHS among others) and in education with a focus on developing people, leadership, coaching, working as effective teams and creative thinking.
