The Assessment Centre - St David’s College

At the St David's College Assessment Centre, we understand that children and young adults with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) face challenges. This is why we offer a range of assessments designed to identify and address these differences. We aim to help hundreds of learners, locally and remotely, to achieve their full potential. Trust us to provide the support and resources needed to succeed.

We are made up of a network of highly qualified Specialist Teachers, Assessors, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. The team is multidisciplinary and highly experienced in the assessment and diagnosis of SpLD. We have decades of experience and use our combined knowledge to understand an individual’s strengths and weaknesses.

Services:

  • Full Diagnostic Assessment for specific learning difficulties including dyslexia and dyscalculia (Child, Adult).
  • Assessment to find the most effective teaching methods.
  • Testing for exam Access Arrangements.

We work with students of all ages and with students who are out of education.

We identify ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Disorder in Adults and Adolescents for educational purposes.

How do I access diagnostic assessment services at St. David's College?

We will have a conversation to understand what challenges are present and, if appropriate, suggest the correct assessment for the learner.

Step 2

An assessment is booked with the Specialist Assessor for Specific Learning Difficulties or the Occupational Therapist (OT) or Speech and Language Therapist (SALT).

Step 3

Questionnaires will be sent out so that we can have a fuller picture of the learner's experience in education.

Step 4

The assessment can take place either face-to-face or online using a remote platform.

Step 5

Two working weeks from the assessment day, a comprehensive report is completed. This will include recommendations for the best ways to support learning at home or in an educational setting.
