St David’s College is proud to report an outstanding set of A-Level and BTEC Level 3 results from our year 13 group this Summer.
Having overcome a course disrupted by COVID restrictions our pupils have achieved a 97% pass rate across all Level 3 qualifications with an outstanding 42% of grades awarded being A*- A or Distinction*- Distinction.
Our Mathematics Department returned flawless results with 100% of pupils achieving A*-A. This was echoed by our sector-leading Design Technology Department with 11 of the 12 pupils taking the Level 3 qualifications achieving a Distinction* or A*-A; truly incredible work.
Our Science pupils have continued their excellent run of results with continued success in Applied Science BTEC Grades with over 88% of grades at Distinction* to Merit and 63.6% of Biology, Chemistry, & Physics grades at A* - A.
Stand-out performances came from Acca Law who achieved A* across the board with top grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Callum Frauchiger achieved an A* in Biology and Design Technology, and an A in Geography; and Jack Dolder earned an A in Maths and Chemistry, and a B in Physics and has been accepted to the highly competitive “Ship Science” course at Southampton University. Deanna Craven also excelled with an A grade in Biology and Maths, with a B in English.
There were some outstanding combined A-Level and BTEC results with Owain Evans achieving a Distinction* in BTEC Sport and A grades in Biology, Maths, and Physics. Congratulations also go to Ellen Jones who earned a Distinction* in Applied Science, a Merit in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship BTEC, and a B in English. Tom Hughes earned a Distinction* in Applied Science and Double Award in Sport BTEC and is bound for Cardiff MET to study Sports Science.
