STEM / Christmas Fair is back!

Published: 12.12.2022 ( a year ago )

Today saw the return of the STEM / Christmas fair at St David’s College. The event was organised by Sixth Form pupil and STEM Ambassador, Edwin Thompson alongside Head of Science Mr. Andrew Goodwin.

There was a wide range of stalls on offer for all our pupils to join in the festive fun. We had Science stalls, a Spanish Churro stall, as well as lots of different games. Pupils were challenged to eat a donut without using their hands, hook a reindeer, climb a wobbly rope ladder, and many more.

To help to ensure that pupils made the most of the event, they were all given a check card that listed the different stalls. For every activity pupils took part in they received tickets that could be exchanged in the prize shop for gifts or treats. The better the pupil did in these activities, the more tickets they received. And all without any money changing hands.

The pick of the challenges was the return of “Dunking Delany!”. Even though the man himself, Mr. Delany, was unavailable to be drenched this year, we had three willing (well, kind of) participants step into the wet seat. Aaron Richards-Carr, Sara Beesley, and Jack Williams – the Residential Assistants from Snowdon, Augusta, and Tryfan respectively – joined in the fun. Pupils had to score a goal to trigger the downpour from the mechanism designed by some of our Design Technology students.

All in all, it was a fantastic event that was enjoyed by all of the St David’s College staff and pupils.

Well done everyone.
