British Science Week is a nationwide event and there are lots of events and activities taking place around the UK, at St David’s we organised a raft of fun events to celebrate the different sciences.
On Monday a planetarium was installed in the Assembly Hall for budding astronomers in Years 5/6. The pupils learnt about the different star constellations, and how as humans we learnt to use them to guide us.
Tuesday our lucky Year 10s headed to Alton Towers, theme park and it was a fun opportunity to defy the laws of gravity!
On Wednesday our Year 8 and Year 9 headed to fabulous Chester Zoo. Chester Zoo's main aim as a zoo is to educate and inspire. They offer fascinating workshops to help spark an interest in the animal world. The Zoo is regarded as one of the best, if not the best in the UK. The trip was enjoyed by all, and it was incredible to see so many animals up close. A particular favourite were the giraffes, bats and butterflies
