A day of frosty woods and poetry for Year 7

Published: 06.12.2023 ( 11 months ago )

Mr Daws shared his poetry and music in the beautiful, ancient woods that surrounds the school. The gentle notes of the kalimba quietened the group to start the day

They started the day by playing a listening game in the Minstrel Hall warmed by a crackling fire, which had been specially lit for the occasion.

The children were later inspired by their walk through the frosty woods to create their own poetry.

Year 7 were then able to record their poetry that they recorded and will later be able to work with our Head of Music Mr Wills to put music to their poetry.

Sounds like a day filled with magic, which will long stay in the memory.
