Meet the school's strongest 14-year-old
Jorgie, 14, is very humble about his athletic achievements.He’s also a talented rugby playe,r playing a year above his age group for RGC and also plays for Abergele Rugby Club.
The talent runs in the family as his brother Josh, holds the Welsh record for his age group and weight being able to clean and jerk 103kg. He also plays rugby for Warrington Wolves.
“My dad is very strong too, so I think my brother and I get our strong genes from him,” said Jorgie.
“I can clean and jerk 83kg and snatch 64kg which isn’t bad and I’m hoping to compete at a competition with the Welsh Development Squad in Austria later this year.”
He continued: “I’ve only been weightlifting for six months so I’m happy with the way it’s going so far.
“I train three times a week in the gym, and I love playing for RGC and I’m proud to put on the shirt as St David’s sponsors it.”
