Lea-Anne Bramwell, of Abergele, who left St David’s College in 2016, has been a pro golfer since the beginning of last year
Winning a place on the Ladies European Tour meant the absolute world to her. She has been part of Wales Golf for a few years and her dream was always to join the Ladies European Tour. Her ultimate goal is the elite US championships such as the LPGA.
It would continue the globe-trotting success she has already had across the world in amateur competitions in Ireland, Chile, Italy, South Africa and Australia.
Lea-Anne put all her time into golf after suffering a horse-riding accident at the age of 14, when she had to undergo a hip operation and remained in a wheelchair for more than a year.
Her career highlights include playing the Junior European Open Championships in Cadiz, Spain as the only lady playing against men and won by nine shots!
Assistant Head (Academics) Mr Mark Turner, who is a keen golfer, was pleased to bump into Leanne recently and learn of her success.
She said about St David’s: “I loved my time there as it was so sporty, I loved playing netball and all the other activities that you could do.
“The teachers were brilliant, and I liked the learning style.”
Lea-Anne, who trains for five to six hours a day, is always looking for sponsors. If you’d like to sponsor her, please email mturner@stdavidscollege.co.uk.
It’s always lovely to hear from an Old Davidean, please stay in touch Lea-Anne and the very best of luck in future golfing tournaments!
