It drew inspiration from John Mayor’s vision for the school, the symbols/emblems of the school and our ethos
The day allowed pupils to demonstrate a range of transferable skills that are directly applicable to the role of prefects/ambassadors within St David’s. These included:
Pupils were scored throughout the day on the above skills and conducted a self-reflection on the skills they had learnt at the end of the day.
Head of Sixth Form Owen Davis said: “The day went very well, and I think Year 12 really enjoyed it.
“It challenged our pupils so that those most committed to the school stood out, and it will help us with the selection of next year’s Head Girl and Head Boy as well as prefects.”
Head of Outdoor Education Ian Martin added: “The day taught them about perseverance, resilience, and communication.
“Rev. Tim Hall kicked off the day telling them about the story of the school and what their part is in that story.
“I think the day helped install a sense of pride and as a group team they were brilliant to work with.”
Mr Martin added: “I think the day also made them aware of setting the best possible example to others across the school and installing a sense of belonging and pride of being part of the St David’s community.”
