A celebration of talent and passion

Published: 23.05.2024 ( a month ago )

The first (of many we hope) whole school rugby awards were held at the Deganwy Quay Hotel

Over 130 players, parents and cheering supporters witnessed an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the success of the teams on and off the pitch as well as marvelling at their progress as young people.

The awards were supported by Corey Patterson, a former Australian Rugby League Player, who spoke eloquently about the importance of culture and the role sport can play in the holistic development of young people. Corey also handed out the awards, recognising each year's unique achievements.

The night was completed with an emotionally charged revealing of the 1stXV video tour edit for the Slovenia and Italy Tour and the leaving players receiving their pictures as a memento and reminder of their time at St David’s College. Leaving with the message that: "You don't leave St David’s, you’re just here less often".

One parent commented on the passion and energy that filled the room during the awards and video.
