It comes as no surprise as just last year; Oliver delivered a virtuoso performance at the ISA Young Musicians of the Year and took home the top prize!
Oliver had faced stiff competition from thirty-eight pupils from across the UK.
He hopes one day to become a professional cellist at the London Symphony Orchestra or Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Oliver practices his cello for two and half hours every day and is looking forward to spending two weeks with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales during the summer, one week will be spent touring around the country.
“I auditioned and I’m really chuffed to get in as most of the members of the orchestra are aged between 16-20 and I’m 13,” said Oliver.
“My dream is to play at the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, hopefully one day!”
Well done Oliver. We can’t wait to see you play at the Royal Albert Hall!
