This has involved safeguarding training and learning how to be an approachable and friendly face around the St David's Community for the younger years in the school
Our Peer Mentors are there to engage, listen and support younger pupils in and around the school as role model students who can inspire and encourage our younger generations.
They have been trained in safeguarding and have taken part in active tasks to learn how to mentor and support the younger pupils in the school.
Deputy Head girl Sophia said: “It was a really interesting workshop, learning about safeguarding and how we should react to different scenarios if one of the younger pupils approached us asking for advice.”
Head Girl Lucy added: “By receiving training in safeguarding we’ll be able to work out whether we’ll need to get a teacher involved or be able to offer advice or assist a pupil ourselves.
“I think it’s a great new initiative and all of us in the Sixth Form will enjoy being Peer Mentors.”
