Grace was scouted over the weekend, after playing so brilliantly for North West Wales at the Welsh Netball Championships in Cardiff
Grace has only been recently selected for the team.
“It was amazing to be selected for North West Wales let alone being asked to join the Wales Netball Academy, I’m really happy,” said Grace, who plays for St David’s College and Colwyn Bay Netball Team.
“In Cardiff we played on the same pitches that are used for the national games against England and so on, so it was pretty exciting but quite nerve-racking as there were quite a lot of spectators.”
Grace, who plays mostly Goal Shooter or Goal Attack, played four games on Saturday and three on the Sunday. Her team were runners-up to North East Wales.
“I’m sad we didn’t win, but I’m glad we beat Cardiff and Swansea as I think they thought they were going to beat us easily,” smiled Grace.
She added: “I loved every moment of it and everyone was really friendly and now I can’t wait to play with the Wales Netball Academy!”
Superb Grace! We can’t wait to hear how you get on. You’re an inspiration to all of our netball players.
